Vampire costumes are always a popular choice at any time of the year, but especially for Halloween!  From the early days of Dracula films to the Vampire Diaries in the 1990’s to the Twilight Saga of the today’s popular hit movies and TV shows True Blood and, of course, the Twilight Saga, vampire costumes have never lost their appeal.

While costumes used to consist of a black tuxedo and cape, things have progressed considerably since those early days.  Now, you have all kinds of costumes and accessories to vamp up your Halloween.  Here are a few choices:

Most of these costumes are available in ALL designs and sizes (child through adult, male and female).

Munsters

Want to go old school? Doesn’t get more vintage than this Lily Munster costume. Lily Munster, Countess of Shroudshire (and a vampire), is the matriarch of the Munster household. The role was later played by Lee Meriwether in The Munsters Today and by Portia de Rossi in Mockingbird Lane.

Blade

Anyone remember this Wesley Snipes series where he was a “good guy” vampire? Maybe because he is only half vampire and have living human being, so he isn’t harmed by sunlight as full-blood vampires are. Technically, he might not be considered a real vampire since he actually slays them, and is called a “Daywalker” instead.

Well, to get as close as possible to the “Blade” costume, try this:

Interview with the Vampire

In my opinion, one of the worst Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt movies ever. But a lot of people liked it, and of course it did feature the young, beautiful Claudia vampire (Kirsten Dunst).

Although there isn’t an authenic costume from this film, there are plenty of Victorian vampire costumes.

Check them out here.

Nosferatu

The original vampire movie. This 1922 silent film has become a classic with true vampire film lovers.  Rather than depicting Dracula as a shape-shifting monster or debonair gentleman, this vampire is a nightmarish, spidery creature of bulbous head and taloned claws.

There are now plenty of Nosferatu costume options available due to the increased popularity of vampires. Those wishing to go with the “original” vampire costume, can find them here.
